Current conditions

Lively low-pressure activity over the Atlantic is causing a prolonged south-to-southwesterly flow in the Alpine region. This is bringing very mild air masses from the western Mediterranean to us, and as the air will also be mostly dry, the sun will make frequent appearances. This combination will bring Golden October back to us at the end of the month. However, there will be a few minor blemishes, as an area of disturbance may occasionally be embedded in the southerly flow. But a strong southerly foehn in the mountains will weaken this significantly, so that for now, we should only see very light rain for a short time on Thursday morning. However, more significant precipitation could then become an issue on Sunday. But it remains to be seen to what extent the foehn will allow this to happen. The weather will stabilize again at the beginning of next week, and the southerly foehn will soon return to the Alpine region.
„As a meteorologist in the region, I am not only very familiar with the small-scale meteorological particuliarities that distinguish the Arlberg region from other regions, but also with the demands that locals and guests place on a regional weather report.“
